The Great War in Colour

Yesterday was Remembrance Day. It was also the first Rememberance Day to pass without the presence of a WW1 veteran at the Centopath. It is then perhaps all the more poignant that these images should be unearthed this week. They are thought to have been taken by a French photographer that was a friend of the famous Lumiere Brothers. The stark and graphic imagery in these pictures, depicting scenes of both horror and camaraderie, are testimony to the importance of reflecting each year on the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

Reassuring to see someone from this generation recognising the great sacrifice made by men of their same age from previous generations.
